Energy costs are now a headache for most businesses.
How to reduce them while maintaining the current level of production?
One of the methods is accurate metering and monitoring of the most energy-consuming processes.
How do we implement it in practice?
In our Lumel Alucast die-casting plant, we have built an automation system based on Lumel’s network parameter meters and scada software.
In the first stage, we measured all parameters in the foundry department and the tool shop. In this way, we got full control of energy consumption and the load of the machine park. This in turn
allows for better planning of the machine load over time to reduce the ordered power.
Constant monitoring of the power of the machines also represents:
- control of their real working time,
- monitoring of employee workload
- quick response in the event of a failure.
- knowledge about production costs, i.e. an excellent tool in the offer calculation process.
Currently, the monitoring system is being expanded to other departments, i.e. CNC department and the paint shop.
